• What is it?

    • This is a new initiative where all the worship leaders come together to plan worship song sets.
  • Why?

    • We are stronger and better together
      • Planning together will provide better continuity to the way we lead worship both thematically and musically
      • Stop that “time’s running out” feeling. Songs will be determined much in advance. You and those serving with you will have more time to prepare
      • Finding new ways to speak into each other’s life: Through feedback, we will find ways to encourage and help each other improve on worship leading
  • What are we aiming for here?

    • 3 months worth of worship song sets (not flow/rundown) will be completed; for Feb, Mar, Apr
    • Each month we will focus on one of God’s characters or actions (e.g. Mercy, Holiness, He Saves)
  • How are we doing this?

    • Step 1: Gather a collection of songs (We will do this through google doc)
    • Step 2: Draft up worship song sets (45 minute Skype meet)
    • Step 3: Communicate
      • List the song sets on the worship schedule
      • Schedule rehearsals with instrumentalist bands
    • Step 4: Execute
      • Design rundown/flow
      • Rehearse
      • Lead on Sundays
    • Step 5: Fine-tune and Improve
  • What are the tasks you can expect to pick up? You will…

    • contribute to the song collection by suggesting songs that God has used to speak to you
    • create flow/rundown for the sets you are leading
    • update worship schedule with song sets
    • help create slides in Proclaim (Here’s the How-To)
    • schedule rehearsals with instrumentalists/band ahead of time
    • select passages there are suitable for that particular worship session
    • provide feedback where you can
  • Others stuff you need to know

    • This may seem like a lot of work, but once we get used to this, it will become a new (good) habit, and we will build momentum
    • For the time being, you will need to relief yourself from needing to know what the sermon message will be for that Sunday. There is every intention to have worship time match up with the message. That will come, just not at the moment.
    • We are treading new territories, so expect to communicate more; expect tension and frustration at times.
    • This exercise will be fine-tuned and improved via your feedback. So don’t worry about this thing not working. We will make mistakes, there will be kinks to iron out.
    • Although song sets are planned in advanced, you can still change it at your discretion. However, it is recommended to keep song changes to a minimal.
