Why a new design?
God is the Creator. In everything He does, He inspires loving creativity. We believe we are called to steward God-given resources and raw materials in a life-giving direction through thoughtful intentionality and design. Making use of any opportunities to point to the beauty and grace of God. The new design is just one of many ways to embody such desire.
1. A visual generation
When we look around we see images and videos plastered all around us. Today’s children and youth are being brought up on digital devices like iPads and smartphones. Like it or not, we are in a visual age where imageries have become a main way of communication. The bulletin is designed with colours in mind. Understanding that a picture is worth a thousand words. It symbolizes the diversity we represent together.
2. Putting our God-given gifts to work
Something as simple as a bulletin design printed on a piece of paper required a team of individuals coming together to apply their talents. It is the ministry of imagination, creation, organization, and administration. What you hold in your hand is an expression that tells of the beauty of God. It is God-honouring to serve through creating.
3. A gateway to engage everyone on mission
The new bulletin is streamlined to communicate two very important reminders: 1) Identity — who we are in Christ as a church and 2) Purpose — what has Jesus called this church to do in the world. We imagined the bulletin to serve as a highlighter of what is of importance, to keep the main thing the main thing, that is, our love for Jesus and our love for our neighbours. The bulletin is not the silver bullet, it is one of the many tools we use to help us stay focused on the mission to which God has called us: to called people into a growing relationship with Jesus.
4. It’s a long time coming
Calvary Logos Baptist Church is celebrating her 20th anniversary this year. What better way to celebrate the occasion with a new design, proclaiming the future we have in Jesus Christ.
