It is a day of turning away from our shameful acts and guilt and turning towards the gracious love of God.  \nAshes reminds us of the death we deserve: “Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return.” (Genesis 3:19) But when ashes are being put on our foreheads in the sign of a cross\, it signifies the powerful love of Jesus Christ on the cross that frees us from sin and death. \nCome\, and receive such grace together!
